The beautiful castles, nice shops and restaurants in St. Michaël, Mauterndorf, Mariapfarr and Tamsweg are very worthwhile and the Aineck-Katschberg (St. Margarethen) ski area with 80 kilometers of slopes and 17 lifts can be reached in just 5 minutes, the Grosseck-Speiereck ski area in Mauterndorf with 50 kilometers of slopes in about 10 minutes and the Obertauern ski area with 100 kilometers of slopes in about 20 minutes by car
